But the statistics for Peterborough is really off the charts so far this season.
Looking at all teams participating in League One for the last 10 seasons, the average conversion rate from total shots over a full season is 12.3% and the best conversion rate from total shots any team has recorded during that time over a full season is 17.9%. Peterborough's conversion rate from total shots so far this season has been an incredible 22.6% which is also miles better than for example record breaking Premier League winners Manchester City last season with a conversion rate from total shots at 16.0%.

I find it extremely unlikely that Peterborough will continue producing goals at the rate and manner they've been doing so far this season, in fact their shot statistics doesn't look that impressive (see below). I would like to argue that they've been rather lucky so far and things like that tend to even out during a long season.
(Peterborough beat Plymouth 1-5 in August; 0-1 due to a major misstake from the Plymouth goalkeeper, 0-4 from the penalty spot via the bar and 1-5 in 90+4. This did not mirror the game at all: Plymouth won the possession 59-41, the total shots 22-11 and the corners 10-5. Peterborough beat Southend 2-3 in September despite Southend claiming the total shots 18-9, the corners 9-4 and shots on target 10-3(!).)
Writing off Peterborough, I believe Barnsley looks like the most interesting team from the chasing pack.
Looking at created and conceded total shots so far Barnsley looks like a front runner:

If Barnsley can continue performing anywhere near where they've started out I believe they have great shot at outscoring the rest of the teams in League One.
I invest in the following market:
